Amazing Magic Taught By An Amazing Team...
3 Skills Levels To Complete
The Sticker Manual
Welcome To The Club!
Our Magician Tutor's hold valid enhanced DBS certificates, public liability insurance and receive ongoing safeguarding training. Each magician performs professionally outside of the club and has strong experience of working with children in schools.
Performing faultless trick demonstrations and fun filled explanations, our Magician Tutor's are passionate about inspiring all children in our magic clubs. Every child has their own style of performance - our team will help everyone become more confident at showing these wonderful magic effects to friends & family!
The "Magicians Master Manual" is given to each child participating in the Ketsy’s Young Magicians school club. With detailed instructional prompts, the manual supports the live tuition the children receive in schools. The booklet is also used to collect the stickers and record scores based on each individuals performance.
Using the manual allows our team to be consistent with both the trick content and scoring system.
Children enjoy progressing through the 3 chapters; learning, practicing and performing new tricks each week!
In 2011, professional magician Richard Kettle started taking the concept of teaching children magic into primary schools. Over time, the content of the club has developed to where it is now - a concise 3 level instructional sticker manual.
Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength with more schools, children and parents taking interest in the unique club.
The aim of the club has always been to develop children's confidence through the structured, fun and inspiring guidance of our specialist team of magician's.
Other benefits include improved concentration, dexterity, problem solving, creative thinking and interpersonal skill development.
Starting on the Conjurer level, children will learn to perform a collection of basic techniques and methods to some simple but very effective magic effects.
Children will first observe a live demonstration of a magic trick before working in small groups to practise and perform with their friends.
At the end of each lesson, each child will perform the magic trick back to one of our experienced magician tutor’s for an achievement sticker.
After successfully performing each of the 12 tricks in the Conjurer chapter, they will be awarded a certificate and progress to Level 2 ~ Illusionists & Level 3 ~ Young Magicians.
Looking at effort, behaviour, ability and performance style (we know every child is different) we will award children either a Conjurer, Illusionist or Young Magician sticker. Each sticker corresponds to a skill mark on the bar seen below.
We are careful to award each sticker in a non-competitive way to ensure that every child's confidence grows further as they complete more tricks.
The children take great pride in collecting stickers and often choose to dedicate part of the session to re-visiting tricks and attempting to gain a higher mark/sticker. We award stickers consistently across all schools with our unique scoring bar system:
Certificates are awarded on the completion of the 3 levels. Most children will enjoy receiving these in a school presentation assembly.
These certificates are a tangible measure of each child's progression through our structured course of close up magic tricks, skill challenges and performance tips. Parents and teachers have fed back what a great focus our level system has given their children and on the clear positive impact on confidence.
Get Started At Your School
We work with school club coordinators to make the process of signing up children and trialling the club simple.
Our magic show assemblies are great way to entertain the whole school and showcase our club. Your school will be able to very quickly gauge childrens' (and parents') interest in the Ketsy's Young Magicians club.
We offer free magic shows each academic year for participating schools.
Bespoke club sign up forms are provided each term. We can then either collect the forms and contact parents/ guardians or work with your school to manage the process accordingly.
